Professionals who want to stay plugged in to China’s rapid economic growth, would inevitably has to sharpen their translation and interpreting skills to better engage their Chinese business partners. The Diploma in Translation and Interpretation Skills programme is designed for professionals who aspire to increase their versatility to effectively communicate in both English and Chinese to fulfil their business goals.   
This course aims at raising the bilingual translation skills for professionals in various fields in Singapore and training English-Chinese and Chinese-English translators with perceptiveness in both English and Chinese and translation skills.
Entry Requirements 
At least a pass in 'O' level English as 1st language or equivalent
At least a pass in 'O' level Chinese as 2nd language or New Intermediate HSK (Grade 5) or Old Intermediate HSK (Grade 8)

Course Content
The programme adopts a systematic and practical approach. Besides providing an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of English and Chinese languages, translation principles and techniques, topical practices form an integral part of the programme.

Introduction to Linguistics
Comparative English and Chinese Linguistics
English-Chinese and Chinese-English Translation Theory and Practice
Translation Skills for Different Genres
English-Chinese and Chinese-English Interpretation Theory and Practice
Integrated Translation Skills

Assessment & Certificate 
Participants who have fulfilled 75% attendance, passed the examinations of each module and met other module assessment requirements will receive the "Diplomia in Translation and Interpretation" by SCCIOB.

Students are to meet at least 75% attendance of each module before they are allowed to sit for the examination.
Students must pass all examinations to attain the diploma within the stipulated period before they are eligible for the funding.
SSG Grant: Applicable to Singaporeans aged 21 to 39 years old or PR aged 21 years old and above.
Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Applicable to Singaporeans aged 40 years old and above.
WTS: Applicable to Singaporeans aged 35 years old and above, earning a monthly income of not more than S$2,000.
